This was a pretty impressive day out, CIAO did a brilliant job of organising it and frankly I was surprised to see the volume and quality of vehicles and motorcycles there. Col of CIAO tells me with the success of this event they now expect it will become an annual event which, in time, will rival Auto-Italia in Canberra. I have been to a couple of those over the years and they are an impressive show, but it is a 1,000km round trip and last time I did it took the duke and saw both sunrise and sunset whilst traveling the twisties on the old road - a big day out! So much nicer to just pop up to Tomago to glimpse this fine Italian machinery.

Sorry no pics, forgot to take the camera!

Just rec'd:

 Ciao Tutti,

We could still use a few more bodies to assist &/or be back-up on the day, so if you think that you may be able to help in any small way, please try to be there on saturday & get to know the lie of the land & the programme of happenings. A person or 2 to assist in organising the motorbikes would be handy. The idea is not to have the one lot of people working all day, & not having the opportunity to enjoy the procedings.

A final meeting & setting-up of some equipment is on saturday 28th so that only  minimal tidying-up will be required on Sunday morning 29th, from 6am.Display vehicles may arrive from 8am & hopefully, almost all in place by9.15, with the general public being expected from 9.30.

Volunteers from CIAO are (so far)
Greg Crow, Mike Johnson, Harry Dunn, Brad Lewis, & myself.

Display vehicles $10 including occupant/s Bring a chair or 2 Marking pen for model info card Hide & lock-away any loose items All Italian wheeled vehicles accepted

Cars - Spiders - roof down (or windows) Sedans - one (or more) window down
 (reflections destroy interior viewing)

Bikes - Bring a pad to suit the side or center stand (to avoid fall-over)

Fresh Italian-recipe food available
Mobile pizza van on-site
Mobile Italian coffees van on-site

Various trade displays including cars, bikes & scooters.
A tee-shirt guy, & F1 Models.

It seems that God is arranging a lovely day of 22*C.
 Don't forget a hat.

 Regards, Col

While I think of it, you guys missed a great breakfast on Sunday...

Perfect weather, great company, and some great looking ( sounding ) cars ( all Italian of course... ).

I got to meet some great people, most of whom were called Brett surprisingly.  One of the Bretts brought his 696 which had what I reckon is the best paint job for that model.

I'm actually looking forward to their show now...

Speak soon.  Ride Safe.

Really the title should say "rock along for breakfast 9am this Sunday 7th July at Belmont 16 Footers Club to discuss the above". But of course I know that is pointless as we motorcyclist lot make our mind up a couple of days before - or later! Except for Turismos and the like of course. So really this is just logging the info for people to put in their diaries - whether you come along for breakfast or not!

This is how I know about it, via an email from Col Goldie of CIAO (Combined Italian Auto Organization). Obviously we need timing details and maybe more about the event, but here 'tis - come along Sunday to find out more:

Ciao Everyone,

Rejoice, for INCY's back on the road after open-heart surgery. A couple of blown inlet tappets, & #4 gudgeon bush nicely rotating in the conrod bore. Of course, never heard of before. Plus 100k km service to boot. Very damaging on the account.

Sunday breakfast with the DOGs at Belmont 16s - anyone interested in going? Intention is to boost numbers of exhibits for the All-Italian vehicles & food show at Tomago House - September 29th.
I think that brekkie is 9.30 (doors open) but will confirm with those who may be going. (WRONG - DOORS OPEN 9am!)

Call me - 4987 2310.
Regards, Col
