That’s right: Turismo is back in 2012 for its 11th instalment. Take in all that the ACT, NSW and Victoria have to offer with your Ducati. The event begins the day you register and ends when you and your Ducati are safely home. Choose who you wish to spend your journey with, for what duration and, should you wish to combine your trip, we have taken into consideration the timing of The Snowy Ride to maximise your ride time. Featuring a Sunday registration in Canberra, Turismo is packed with by three days of fantastic riding through the terrain of the Snowy Mountains and the Alpine National Park.

With a whirlwind trip taking place after The Snowy Ride, Canberra will set the scene for registrations on 4 November. The event will be held on 5 to 7 November 2012 from iconic Canberra, passing through Jindabyne and finally to Albury, from where we will explore the Snowy River and Alpine National Parks.

Ducati Turismo 2012 has a strict number of tickets available, so quick registration is encouraged. If you’re ready to let your hair down, open the throttle and enjoy the road with your fellow Ducatisti, register today!

Please note, in 2012 Turismo is a Ducati exclusive event, no other brand is allowed.

Price: $AUD395.00 per person.
Please note: Safety inspection is an additional cost through your Authorised Ducati Dealer.
Price is inclusive of registration, dinner on 5 and 6 November, Gala dinner on 7 November and participant goodie bag.

Please carefully read the list of inclusions as details have changed for the 2012 Turismo:

My guess is that 'Ducati exclusive' is code for 'we're not not able to deal with the volumes of interest in this event, to do it any real justice by expanding it as the marketing opportunity of a lifetime, so we'll use 'current ownership' as an excuse to limit numbers, to something we can manage and feel comfortable with...'

This of course will be met with, 'no, the numbers are limited for logistical reasons' which is more code for 'why should we put in any more effort than we already do...'

This is a bit of shame really, because something that could have been the cornerstone of the Ducati calendar, like HOG, Ulysses and others have on their respective plates.  Now it may be held biennially...

Awesome.

Having enjoyed the 10th Turismo in Feb last year (streuth that was some good riding, plus after the end in Hobart we came back up the west coast which looks more like a race track, see http://hunterdog.org.au/DiscussionBoard/index.php?topic=454.0) and now trying to piece together a calendar for this year I figured I should see when the next Turismo is on. From http://www.ducati.com.au/08/lifestyle.php?id=events.php they say:

11TH Ducati Turismo

Planning for the next Ducati Turismo is already under consideration for an event within the next 24 months. The 10th Anniversary event held in Tasmania last year was a great success and we wish to ensure that the 11th edition of Ducati Turismo will be an equally enjoyable experience for all participants in every aspect from the locations, the route and of course food, wine and hospitality.
One significant change already planned for future Turismo events will be making the event Ducati exclusive, in past events friends riding non-Ducati motorcycles were allowed to join the event, however from the 11th edition onward it will be a Ducati exclusive event. More information and updates will be posted as planning for the event continues.

Which I think means keep checking back, or wait for the advertising to kick in!
