700 SUPERBIKE PODIUMS AND LEADERS IN BOTH THE WORLD SUPERBIKE AND SUPERSTOCK 1000 CHAMPIONSHIPS; DUCATI CELEBRATES AND THE 1198 IS CONFIRMED AS A HEAVYWEIGHT AMONG SPORTSBIKES.

Ducati has exceeded 700 podiums since it first participated in the World Superbike Championship!

This has been achieved with the four podiums scored by Michel Fabrizio (3rd and 2nd), Noriyuki Haga (3rd) and Shane Byrne (2nd) at the SBK Misano race.

Once again the Ducati 1198 proves itself to be the bike to beat, not only in Superbike, where Haga leads the classification with Fabrizio close behind in third place, but also in the Superstock 1000 category, where Xavier Simeon (Ducati Xerox Junior Team) now commands.

In World Superbike’s Ducati is also dominating the Manufacturers classification with 351 points ahead of Yamaha (287 points).

In addition, the 1198 recently won in the American Superbike Championship!

After a three-year absence, Ducati’s victory with Larry Pegram at Elkhart Lake (Wisconsin), after only three months of competition, is significant and highlights Ducati’s level of competitiveness as the win marks the fortieth triumph for Ducati in the AMA championship.

A constant series of positive results for the 1198 on the competition fields serves as further confirmation of its role of a heavyweight among sportsbikes!
