But WAIT - there's MORE!

Check out this wicked, wicked hairpin on the Assen track.  Sure, it may be flat, but this'll make things interesting.  The race goes clockwise around this track. Picture it: flat out down the straight, to be met by a 90 degree right-hander, then a right hand kink, then that llloooonnng sweeping right hand hook. Your tyres would be nearly melting on the right side at this point, and the left would be significantly colder.  You then tip the bike over to the left, onto that cold side, and rip into this hairpin.  Yoiks!  :o

I'm pretty sure this is the corner that Rossi crashed out on in the first lap of last year's Assen race.  Will be interesting to watch it this year - I'd bet there's at least one incident there.

Here's a few good links to MotoGP blogs.

Firstly, the official one, showing the current standings.  http://www.motogp.com/en/Results+Statistics#Statistics

This is probably my favourite blog at the moment.  Read his track report on Assen. (The Low Low Lands of Holland) Holland is FLAT! http://www.motogpmatters.com/

Here's another good one.  His description of the last lap at Catalunya is brilliant. http://www.motogpblog.com/

Enjoy!  ;D

Hi all

Assen will no doubt be a very exciting race.  If you've been following the series so far this year, you'll note that all three of the top riders are now on 106 points.  That's an amazing position to be in, at this stage in the season.

If you go to this site, there's a great little video (free at the moment - not sure how long it will stay up) called "Three Riders for One Title" http://www.motogp.com/en

Watch and enjoy!  ;D

Don't forget, the race will be aired this weekend on SATURDAY night / Sunday morning (not the usual Sun PM / Mon AM).

As far as I can tell (but check your guides):
  • Foxtel has MotoGP starting at 7:00pm Sat for 125s, and 10:00pm Sat for main race
  • Ch 10 has MotoGP starting at 2:15am Sun morning for main race

Oh, there's also Isle of Mann TT on One HD on Sunday night, and I think WSBK on Foxtel this weekend as well?
