OK, so you have to volunteer, and the bike is a quad - and a Jappa at that, sorry. But a good time will be had if you can get away to help out. This is the detail:

We are still looking for another 5 volunteers for the last week at Bathurst for escort duties.

Dates are Saturday 4th October to Sunday 12th October.

The busy period that we really need is for the Tuesday (7th), Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday (10th).

Remember the money we earn at Bathurst is the life blood of the MCC of NSW, this provides our main income.

Free camping, meal room, coffee, tea, sugar & milk provided plus $60-00 per day meal allowance.
Bring your own tent and camping gear. Of course there are the full toilet/shower facilities of a good campground.

MCC of NSW raises money for its operations through managing the camping area at the Bathurst V8 races each year.
No funds, no MCC of NSW.

The first MCC of NSW team goes to Mt Panorama one month prior to the races at Bathurst and marks out over 5,000 campsites with survey and line-marking equipment. The MCC of NSW mananges mapping, operational activities and supervision to ensure all campsites are ready for the influx of spectators.
We have just enough people for this team, which will take around three to four weeks to complete the task, depending upon weather.

Once the gates open, race spectators who have booked their camping spaces need to be taken to their correct site.
As mentioned, there are over 5,000 campsites.
An MCC of NSW volunteer rides a quad bike as escort to the newly arrived carload of spectators who have been checked in at the entrance gate, to their booked campsite. This is not a "security" job, that is for the security guards and Police. You will get to know Mt Panorama, so bring a camera.
People arrive at different times of the day, so we schedule shifts of escorts.

We need people for these escort duties.

Good fun, good company, healthy mountain climate and free time to watch the races.

Skills required?
You have the ability to laugh.
You can ride/drive responsibly through a BIG campground, speak politely to people and be understood on a two-way radio. Open-face helmet makes life easier. You can ride a motorcycle and have a valid license, therefore you can operate a quad.
Radio stuff is simple to learn, stay away from the send button, keep it short.

We can't pay wages, but we can and do pay daily expenses, as noted above.

THIS is how YOU can help the MCC of NSW.
