One interesting thing I found out as part of the whole getting the NDR bike wreck back thing (http://hunterdog.org.au/DiscussionBoard/index.php?topic=119.0) is that the damaged bikes sell last Thursday of the month at Pickles Milperra and you can bid live on line (or just watch) if you want.

Details are most probably available per below, but they don't forward load them too far ahead:

EDIT It seems it is not always Thursday! Try Clicking On This First

or go here and check the listed auctions:
http://www.pickles.com.au/damaged/auctions/?ed_city=Sydney&ed_search_category=Damaged&x=17&y=10

or try http://www.pickles.com.au/auctiontt.html.

In my case the assessor valued the wreck at $5,000 which I thought was a bit much particularly since the front engine mount was torn off (ie the engine casing alloy snapped) and there wasn't a straight panel anywhere! I was sorely tempted to do the bid and try and get it for less thing. However, I added up the bits and it was worth $6,500 to me as it stood without any spares use - and the fellow assured me it was likely to be bought and busted up for sale on EBay for $10,000+ so it was likely people would pay $6,000 for it, particularly as the whole auction process worked so well and they bid online, pay & it turns up on their doorstep 3 days later! So I bit the bullet and had it home by Easter.

A bit of stuffing around and who knows what bargains could be had, do let us know if you snaffle something good.........
