Places to Stay / Accommodation Recommendations

These are recommendations from fellow bikers for "cheap accommodation options, apart from tenting it". I haven't got first hand knowledge but figured this could be useful info to retain:

1) Probably about the cheapest is the caravan park in Cowes, they have onsite vans that are not bad.

2) Last November we stayed at "The Waves Apartments" who have a special rate available (about $35-$40/person/night twin share) when you mention that you are doing a ride day with Phillip Island Ride Days. They also had give away of a free Phillip Island ride day via a draw of all those who stay there on the night before/after a ride day. Damn good odds. I don't have their number handy but
I'm sure you will be able to locate them. They are situated in Cowes.

3) I have always had terrific service from the team at ResCom on 03 5952 1357 or cowes@rescomphillipisland.com.au. Real Estate office that has lots of property to let.

Comments: We were approached by the proprietor while having a break at the nice bakery in the middle of town whilst en route to Tumbarumba and the proprietor introduced himself and said they were very motorcycle friendly and had lock-up parking etc.

Cost: $65 double weeknights, $100 w/end, less for singles, more for families; do golf packages
Comments: A damn fine classy old hotel, can park bikes in the secluded courtyard out the back in view of most room's windows, dine in to 9pm.
