Hi there, Here 'tis, all the Ducati related guff you need to know and some select other stuff:

1) DOCNSW have a Gelato Fang ride north (to Roche Estate) this Sunday, leaving Mt White cafe 9:30am. For more info see

2) 18-19 Nov is a weekender to Tumbarumba as the ST Owners (and appreciators) 20th anniversary Ride, at least 50 Ducatis are going, and counting! See the details of all rides to the event and convince yourself to join one of 'em. We'll be in Katoomba Fri evening as that will be the "nicest" roads and day tripping, plus we are taking Monday off to stop in Bathurst Sun night and via Bylong Mon. For details and maps, see:

3) Canberra National Ducati Rally 2 - 4 March 2018, Station Resort Jindabyne. I am thinking of leaving Thurs arvo for a stop-over in Katoomba (it works really well, we have done it lots of times now for "biggies" heading south) so Fri / Sat night in Jindy and on Sat can include a bit of a ride around the Snowies, riding back Sunday. Check out the details here:,1095

4) DOCNSW Christmas Party, sorry End Of Year Function (wow, when did the DOC go all PC?), is on Sunday Nov 26th at Bossley Park. Kellie and I are driving down to attend as haven't been to one for years and they are always a hoot. It will finish 10pm so we'll drive home that night. Bit of effort but well worth doing, join us if you like. For details see here:

5) Please do support the DOCNSW raffle of a 2017 Ducati Supersport, in aid of Ryde Rehab Centre. The winning ticket will be drawn at the above mentioned Christmas Party but you don't need to attend to win, for details see here:,1102

6) Racetracks; While Italia Raceway is slowly coming to fruition and will be some time before bikes will be on it, another bike friendly one is on the verge of being built at Wakefield (yep, the one near Teralba, on the way to Toronto.). I will shortly be meeting with the gentleman behind it as it happens we have similar interests in driver training. Plus I've gotta put in a good word for the local Ducatisti eh? You can read some details, but it is a much bigger story than what is currently shown here:,1098

7) I learnt the hard way never to overload your Ducati or the engine case will crack - Google is full of them. If you are / carry a heavier pillion and lots of luggage, you too will appear in the search results. If you have a combined weight of people + luggage greater than 180kg you need a heavier rear spring as a minimum, seriously. On reflection, I would move that number to 150kg total and put on a heavier spring, basically if you ever intend to double and think you might hit any kind of decent bump in your travels - it doesn't take much! One guy said he carried a heavier pillion mate just once and cracked his case. Seems not to be an issue on less than 10 year old Ducatis. Check out more of the story here:,1100

8) Never really got on top of how to set up suspension and tyres? I have upgraded mine as a result of the engine case failure and share my thoughts plus what works for an ST4S, plus a link to the best suspension setup guide I have seen:,1101.msg3009.html

9) Want to cheaply put a decent top box that fits two full face helmets in it easily on your ST AND keep the panniers? I have done it, and the basic info would be applicable to most models. See,1088

10) Confused about the NBN and don't know where the best deals are or what you need to do? I did a big investigation of it and am "living the dream". If you'd rather be polishing your Ducati than working it out, here are my tips:,1087.0.html

11) Mustn't forget the Newcastle toy run, Sun Dec 3rd out of Stockton, 10am. See,1092

12) And finish with a tip from one who knows - if you have ever had a standing fall, check the muffler bracket - it only takes light pressure to have the muffler mash with the swing-arm. Three years after I did it I noticed the damage, by which time it looked like a throwaway - if you too have an inner cheapskate just itching to get out, this is how you save the can:,1097

Hope to see you soon, and that the above info is useful to you. All the best.
