18-19 Nov is a weekender to Tumbarumba as the ST Owners (and appreciators) 20th anniversary Ride, at least 50 Ducatis are going, and counting!

Coming from Newcastle really don't want to hack through Sydney just to stay near the DOC NSW South Sydney departure point, so have an alternate plan for anyone interested. Stay at Katoomba Clarendon Guesthouse fri night, $75 (see https://www.wotif.com/Blue-Mountains-Hotels-The-Clarendon-Guesthouse.h2646784.Hotel-Information?chkin=17%2F11%2F2017&chkout=18%2F11%2F2017&rm1=a2&regionId=6049837) and ride via Jenolan Caves rd and a few assorted back roads, total 540km. Arrive well before beer-o'clock, if such a thing is ever possible anyway as it always seems to be beer o'clock when we arrive!

On Sunday stay over in Bathurst at Jack Duggans Irish pub - $70 for a double bed room - they have twins and family rooms also, all recently renovated. A bunch of us stopped there a few years ago and they let us run the bikes into the sheltered beer garden area overnight, which was nice. See http://www.jackduggans.com.au/accommodation.htm. It is 467km going the way I am thinking - see maps below.

390km back to Newcastle via Denman on Monday, going all those nice Bylong Valley roads.

If people want to join Kellie and I on this trip, just turn up at the Guesthouse. We probably won't be there until 7pm, or a bit later if we stop for a meal first, except we do intend to do that in Katoomba since it is a short walk to the main st... What this does is gets you on holidays a bit early and you get the more interesting roads to ride at the beginning of the day while you are fresh - although I assure you the country roads selected are pretty OK too, as much as miscellaneous country roads ever are anyway...

Please note the light pink routes are "rain routes" so can quickly go an easier way if that seems necessary. The darker routes are the intended ones, so green down and dark magenta back. Anyone is welcome to join us and we always wait on turns to ensure nobody misses out the great GPS inspired routing! Don't worry, no dirt - I have ridden almost every road planned, and the couple of short bits I haven't Google Earth tells me they are all tar!
